Lighthouses & God's Will

Paul was here this weekend. We had a bunch of stuff planned but ran out of time. We were planning on going on a boat cruise to Boldt castle in the 1000 Islands on Sunday. But instead of ending up at the boat dock we overshot it by about 20miles or so. So it was at that point that we had 2 options. And it was time to make a decision. Do we go back and try to find where we were originally trying to go? OR Do we just make the best of it and enjoy where we were at which was this beautiful lighthouse and lake side area?

We decided to stay, and you know what? We had such a great time! It got me to thinking. How often do we fight against the tide that God is driving our life upon?How often do we jerk the wheel out of His hands and attempt to steer it our own way? If you keep your hands on the wheel, but let God make the turns and operate the accelerator, it's amazing how much smoother the ride can be! ;)
