Eating snow....

Well, I have decided for certain that I LOATHE all of the policies and procedures in the grand state of Massachusetts and NY is close behind. After paying a $107 tax on a car that I already bought, paid for and junked... paid another $223 for the brand new car that I already paid taxes on + $20 for paying over the phone WHICH I paid just to be done with it all! PLUS another $100 to the state of NY to have them register my car here which basically took care of a piece of paper and plates....all this for 2 months! AHHH! Well, the good thing is that I am all legal now. Everything is paid for but man did it hurt! The awesome thing is that I prayed and was praying during the transaction that the NY DMV would not be more than $100 and that is exactly what it was =0) Praise God! I was walking high after that. Although that large a sum of money hurt right now, I praised God that I had it between what I had saved away and what my sweet fiancee' helped me with. However, I will probably be eating snow until the wedding...between losing weight, the amount of it and it's free lol.

WARNING: RANT AHEAD

I sure hope Reno's DMV is better.......

So, I move back to NY...when I say back I mean back after only being out of the state for 5 1/2 yrs of the 31 1/2 that I have been on the planet! I recently found out that I have exceeded the limit for changing everything with my car over ...BACK to NY. So I scramble around in an attempt to get it all taken care of for the last 2 months that I will even be here since I am moving to Reno in MAY!!!!!!

ANYways..... My birth certificate is one of the many many things they want to prove that I am who I say I am. So I discover that mine is MIA... probably during the move ... BACK TO NY! So I say to the ever so nice woman at the DMV..."Does it count that I have only had a MASS license for 2 of the 15 years that I have been driving?" She says "No! It makes no difference!" So then I ask her..."Can it be a copy (of my birth Certificate) even if it is notarized?" She says.... "NO! It MUST and can ONLY be the original!" How in the world can I get the original copy of something that I already lost?! ORIGINAL means ORIGINAL!!!AHHHHHH!!!!!!

Now, perhaps this woman is nice and friendly during her off hours but man she puts on a face for work!! So as nicely as I could, I thanked her and hung up.

I think there are 2 MAIN things that are annoying the snot outta me right now (other than my own stupidity) are : 1. how hard it is to get relicensed in the state that initially licensed me after being licensed by them for the past 15yrs!!!!! 2. The fact that all of these hoops I am jumping through right now....will be a waste since I will have to go through this mess again and MORE MONEY in 2 MONTHS!!!!!!

SO all of this will cost me about $400 + my excise tax for a car that I ALREADY PAID TAXES ON WHEN I BOUGHT IT! I can't even get started on Massachusetts today! .....AHHHHH
I sort of feel better....thanks!

Valentine's Day at Buffalo/ Niagara Airport. Posted by Picasa

...and a bonus on Valentine's Day...

Well, Paul left yesterday. He was SUPPOSED to leave on Monday but due to bad weather and a delayed plane in Buffalo and a potential overnight stay in Phoenix....Paul asked if he could just stay over another night in Buffalo rather than Phoenix.

It was a great singles awareness day! Yes, it was good but I am still not the biggest fan of the day particularly because of how it makes many people feel.

But ANYHOW...wedding plans are coming along great. We had what I believe was our last pre-marital session on Sunday. It was weird how REAL it made things. We talked about a bunch of things but to refer to each other as husband and wife and to talk about living that way. It was very exciting and a cold shot of water in the face (in a good way).

The reality of the true responsibilities to God, each other and our future children (God willing)! Kind of like bungee jumping...scarey, exhilerating and fun at all once!

Just a short one today =0)

Sniffles, Snowdays & Power Poles

As I was driving home from my friend Esther's house last night I was turning the corner and less than 1/10th of a mile from my apartment when I lost control of my car and struck a guide wire for a power pole. After an hour of standing and sitting between a patrol car and standing out in the bitter cold snow I walked away with a $50 towing bill (to my parking lot that I could walk to in less than a minute!) AND A TICKET. I got a ticket for 'unsafe operation of a vehicle!" I couldn't believe it! Like I WANTED to wreck my car and stand out in the freezing cold snow for an hour when I am already sick and hungry and tired! I was ticked but took it with a smile. I called the court today to find out how to best handle the ticket and court date as I will be out of the area taking Paul back to the airport. He is coming out on Thursday and staying til Monday.

Oh how I long for the days of normal and being in the same time zone and zip code lol.

Oh, yeah, the snowday reference.....closed 2 counties for the snow! It has not stopped snowing since 4pm yesterday afternoon as I write this it is 830pm on Monday night.
